In order to volunteer in the classroom, “parents” as defined as custodial must successfully complete a background screening. Legacy Traditional Schools will conduct a national background screening for noncriminal justice purposes through Accurate Background, who is an elite background screening company with an ISO 9001:2008 Certification.
If the volunteer receives a rejection and would like a copy of their national criminal history record, they will need to contact the FBI at (304)625-3878. Additional information on the national review and challenge process can be found online at www.fbi.gov under Background Checks. Volunteers will be given 90 days from the date of notification to provide documentation clearing their record.
The results of the background screening will be sent to authorized personnel and used only for authorized purposes and will not be retained or disseminated in violation of federal statute, regulation or executive order, or rule, procedure or standard established by the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact Council.
